A couple gaze lovingly into each other's eyes, surrounded by buttercups and the remains of a picnic. They look as if they belong on a knitting pattern, the very picture of safe sex. It's not surprising they look so perfect: they are posing for an advert for Club Sirius, the dating agency for "the single, well-educated and articulate professional".
A mysterious helicopter crash has killed the British multimillionaire founder of an internet dating agency and a close aide he recruited in a bizarre advert.
It also claimed Club Sirius, based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, had failed to obey its code of practice. Problems with Club Sirius had continued over a long period with "hundreds upon hundreds" of letters flooding into the association concerning a wide range of grievances. It has persuaded two other agencies to take on its unhappy clients. Club Sirius said the action was prompted by sour grapes from jealous competitors.
